Feilding plumber fined for negligent gas and plumbing work

A Feilding plumber and gasfitter has been fined after being found guilty of negligent and incompetent work on a Manawatū-Whanganui property.

A disciplinary board found Aaron Goldsack guilty of three charges arising from plumbing and gasfitting work carried out at a rural property between January and May 2023.
The work included installation of piping, bathroom and laundry fixtures, a kitchen sink, a water pump and UV filter, water tanks, a septic tank and gas appliances.
The board said the offending was moderately serious because it involved two types of work, both of which had defects, and because it was carried out outside the limits of his authorisation.
He was fined $4500 and ordered to pay $11,286 towards the costs of the investigation, prosecution and hearing after the matter proceeded by formal proof when he did not take part in the hearing process.
